Hello,

I want to interface XC164 with incremental encoder.
I red datasheet.
It is possible by GPT1.
The port of GPT1 is also JTAG/OCDS.

How can I use the GPT1 and JTAG?

Hello,
I want to interface with incremental encoder.
P3.4 port is also used by JTAG.

I don't know about the XC164, but the XC800 series offers two sets of pins you can use for JTAG.

Or you can use a MUX that defaults to the JTAG connector. This way you can at least preserve the programming capability. Though you won't be able to debug once you've flipped the MUX.
