Hello there,

I am implementing a project with the XMC4700 Relax Kit which should be capable to run independent of the USB power supply, preferably via an external 3.3V power supply.
From the figure in the manual (attached) it seems reasonable to me to connect an external 3.3V supply to the pin headers X1 / X2 instead of the USB supply, omitting the 5V rail and the Linear regulator (5V->3.3V). Can I do so, or is there any problem with it?

I am somewhat confused with the description in the User Manual that states "The XMC4700 Relax Kit [...] must be supplied by an external 5 Volt DC power supply connected to any of the micro USB plugs (X100, X101)."

Regards Felix

Hi,

There is no problem in powering the XMC4700 from the VDD33/GND in the X1/X2 connectors.
