I have an application using an XMC4700E196K2048 micro and am trying to add external PSRAM (Cellular RAM) to its EBU. The PSRAM is 16 bit and has separate Data (D15-D0) and Address (A21-A0) pins. Figure 14-9 in the XMC4700 Reference Manual illustrates this type of connection. It is unclear to me if the AD(31-16) pins should be connected to the lower two address bytes of the extrernal PSRAM with A(MAX-16) being connected to the upper address lines or visa versa.

Hi,
This is illustrated in table 14-13.
You should connect the AD(31-16) pins of the micro to the A(15:0) pins of the external PSRAM, and A[21:16] pins of the micro to A(21:16) pins of the external PSRAM.
Regards,
Jesus
