Hello,
I would like to ask if TLV493D-A1B6 is able to detect both 3D joystick position and angle rotation at a same application with only one chip?
More specific, one joystick is placed above the sensor. When the joystick is moved to a certain position, then it is rotated. So in this application, could TLV493D-A1B6 be used as implementation of joystick position and angle check at the same time?
Thanks a lot in advance. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,
The TLV493D is able to detect a magnetic field strength in 3D directions (X,Y and Z-Axis) and the datasheet has defined the usable magnetic linear range B: +/-130mT.
The question is if there is a chance to build up a magnetic field with magnetics so that both the 3D position and the rotation angle can be detected.

So, by using multiple sensor can this application be performed. Because for angular rotation measurement the magnet should be diametrically magnetized while for 3D joystick motion the magnet should be axially magnetized.

It can detect a magnetic field strength in 3D directions

Hi @User14676,
Yes, it can be used. Please use our GUI on our website, which will provide you with the angle and position.
Thanks,
Ritwick
