Hi,
Is it possible to use both, Ethernet and EtherCAT simultaneusly on XMC4300/4800 chips? I see EtherCAT mode controls two ports, I'm wondering if I could switch one of them into normal Ethernet mode.
Or if anyone got an idea how to have both, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi,
It is possible to have both interfaces running.
See example in the XMClib, XMCLib\examples\XMC4800_series\ECAT
XMClib can be downloaded at http://dave.infineon.com/Libraries/XMCLib/XMC_Peripheral_Library_v2.1.8.zip
Regards,
Jesus

Hello,
thanks very much for replying. I want to test the Hardware of EtherCAT, just like PHY. Usually, this needs a controller like Twincat or another. It is very Inconvenient, so
is there any other ways to achieve this goals? Just use the tested hardware, Ethercat Port0 is used as normal ethernet and send pockets, and another port receive.
Thanks very much.

Hi,
Yes, you could use the ETH interface as EtherCAT master and the EtherCAT P0 for the EtherCAT slave.
Check ECAT_ETH_LOOP XMC4800 example in the XMCLib http://dave.infineon.com/Libraries/XMCLib/XMC_Peripheral_Library_v2.1.18.zip
