Hi,

As per the Application Note AP32289 the POSIF module can be set to only to any one mode from the following:

- 00B: Hall Sensor Mode
- 01B: Quadrature Decoder Mode
- 10B: Stand-alone Multi-Channel Mode
- 11B: Stand-alone Multi-Channel & Quadrature Decoder Mode

Does that mean only the hall sensor outputs or the encoder outputs be monitored by the POSIF module in the XMC1300 series but not the outputs from both the sensors at the same time?

Hi Jyotirmaya72,

Yes this is correct. One POSIF Module can support one sensor at the same time.

You can multiplex the Encoder and Hall by HW. And switch from Encoder to Hall.
But both can not be used in the same time.

This enabling from either Hall or Encoder in HW is shown in the documentation of the Motor control board:
www.infineon.com/xmc1000/kits --> XMC1000 Motor Control Application Kit
Tab Documents: Board User's Manual PMSM LV 15W Card
(http://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Board_Users_Manual_PMSM_LV_15W_Card_R1.pdf?fileId=db3a30433f74fc8b013f7...)

You can also use the XMC1400 Series which has two POSIF Modules.
Or you can build an Interface with CCU4 timers. Unfortunatelly I don't have an example for this.

Hi Eric

Thanks for the reply.

There few more questions i have in mind:
- Can the motor driver example (BLDC_SCALAR_SL_XMC13) for XMC1300 be used with XMC1400?
- What are the Port I/O functions used by the SWD pins P0.14 and P0.15 of XMC1300?
- Are the Pin 2-SWDIO/SPD and PIN 3 - DAP0(clock) of miniwiggler v3.0 DAP to be used for serial wire debug?
- Is the miniwiggler v3.0 compatable with DAVE V4?
