Hello,

Is it possible, to use UART Interface at XMC1100BootKit over USB Link -> Virtuel COM Port ???

P1.2 and P1.3 are recognized for that...
Put it seems that's only working in combination with X-Spy. See Hint on Schematic...

It would be fine, if there's a way to communicate with own terminal Software... Virtuel COM Port is avaiable, But it seems Debug-XMC4500 on Board is not prepared for that.

May there is a way?

Best Thanks for help.

Check to see if a virtual COM port has been created for the boot kit.

Yes, Virtual COM Port is there in HW-Manager...

But it don't goes over DEBUG XMC4500 to XMC1100 ...
I think, that virtual COM Port is only for use with X-Spy ???

May, there is a way to use it with own Terminal-SW? That's the question ...

Hello,

Yes, the XMC1100 boot kit can be used to communicated with a PC terminal program via the virtual COM port.

By default, the device on the boot kit is in SWD0 BMI mode.
USIC0 channel 1 can be used to transmit or receive data via P1.2 and P1.3.

Have you tried with the UART examples provided by DAVE?

As long as the baud rate and COM port is correctly configured at the terminal program, the example should work properly.

Hi,

Thanks, but as already written...

I can meassure the UART signals directly on the ports. 1.2, 1.3 ...BUT, it don't goes over the XMC4500 USB-Chip to virtual COM.

Hello,

Can I confirmed that the correct COM port is selected at the terminal program? This can be found from your PC's device manager as shown below.
1988.attach

Also, is the same baud rate used in XMC1100 and terminal program?

These 2 points are usually the culprit to why the communication to terminal program fails.

Ist working now.
Thanks for help.

Can you, please, share with us what the HW issue was, in case we have similar issues with boot kits in the future?
