I made the mistake to update to the latest version of Dave in my Win 7 -64 bytes machine and it does not work!
It always gets stuck on the" Initializing Solver Manager " window
I have deleted the application several times and deleted the infineon folder under users and it worked for a few hours yesterday but today it doesn't work either
Does anyone have the same error? Any suggestions?
I'm attaching my error log.

Hi
We have observed this issue with Kaspersky Total Security-Version -[15.0.2.361.0.738.0] . This issue was resolved in Kaspersky Total Security-Version[16.0.0.614.0.17.0].
We don’t know exactly what changes they have done in the newer version.
Could you please help me to get the following information
1. Do you have Anti-Virus software installed (like Kasper-Key, AVG etc)
2. Did you updated recently any Anti-Virus software?
3. Can it possible to turn off Anti-Virus and check?
Thank you
Best Regards
Ningareddy

Same Problem here. No Kaspersky. And even if Windows Defender is all off.
WIN10 Pro 64 bit. DAVE 64bit. Same Problem with DAVE 32bit.

Version 4.2.2 that I installed this morning behaves in the same way.
Symptom:
1. It always gets stuck on the" Initializing Solver Manager " window when I try to add app to the project
My installation is:
1. Windows 10 with Windows Defender as antivirus.
2. Dave 4.2.2 64 bit version
3. I did not install the application in the default folder. I installed it on (D:\ASSD\Infineon\Dave422).
Behavior:
1. I lanch Dave.exe.
2. I wait Dave.exe to load whatever it has to load and remain idle.
3. Dave.exe runs with 0% cpu resources.
4. But eclipse.exe (32bit) runs with 20% cpu resources. ( D:\ASSD\Infineon\Dave422\eclipse\Solver\lib\i386_nt\eclipse.exe)
5. I hit the Add new app button and select any application (ex. System\Digital_IO)
6. The loading window with the progress bar stucks on the"Getting solution from the solver"
7. Now in my system I have Dave.exe(0%) eclipse.exe (32bit) 20% plus another eclipse.exe (32bit) 20% of cpu resources
8. After I kill the Dave application, eclipse.exe applications remain consuming 40% in total
9.I manually kill eclipse.exe applications
That is all

Hi,
I tried to update to Dave 4.2.2 on WinXp (Dave 4.1.4 runs fine on XP) and get a Java.lang.NullPointerException during Initializing Solver at Startup of Dave or Set Active Project:
(I know, XP is obsolete, but i think this observation helps)
Regards,
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
Unfortunately, WinXP is not supported in DAVE4. This means that we do not test for it on a WIN XP system. 😞
Therefore, I would recommend you to use DAVE4 on a system requirement with the following:
- PC with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 – 32bit & 64-bit
- 4 GB RAM (recommended)
For the time being, please reply with your .logfile to this thread, to enable to analyse the error.
You can reference this thread to extract the .log file from your workspace.

@Work
And > 50 GB of SSD storage free.
@Home it is Win 10 Pro with 16 GB of RAM and way enough disk space.
What might help you (or not):
It works sometimes after a boot for some times.
It seems that an update to the actual Java runtime helped.
It seems the solver is still a 32-bit Programm in the 64-bit Version.
I had no time to work on that project recently. Therefore I don't have much feedback right now.

This might not help you: Without any changeing of my systems (see above) it seems to work now without problems. Only thing that might have happened is Windows System Update => e.g. Defender update.

I have the same problem. Additionally I created a new Workspace and started a new project.
In this case DAVE gets stuck on adding Apps. I attached the log file of it trying to add a DIGITAL_IO app.
The output up until line 318 is the state when it is stuck and everything that comes after was added once I killed the eclipse.exe task occupying the CPU
As you can see, I gave it more than 10 minutes before killing it.
My System:
Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)
16GB RAM
Windows Defender

Even with the new 4.2.4 I ran into the same problem on one machine.
A deinstall an reinstall does not help.
Could you give me informations on what to delete after a deinstall to really get a fresh install?
On this machine the 64-bit and the 32-bit versions were installed.

Hi Holger,
Looks like you are using the old workspace (created using DAVE 4.2.2), where solver location was w.r.t DAVE 4.2.2
Please validate existence of “Solver” location path set in preferences page using Menu Windows->Preferences->DAVE->DAVE CE Preferences
Please see the attached image.
If this path is not set properly (Looks like that is the case here ) then please update it correctly.
Correct path should point to absolute location of/eclipse/Solver/lib/i386_nt/eclipse.exe
Please let me know if this solves the issue
Best Regards
Ningareddy

This helped. Although the correct path was in there. But eclipse complainede about not finding the file.
I needed to change it to a wrong once and needed to apply and then changed it back to the right one and it works.

Hi,
in my case the solver path was ok, changing the path to wrong and back like Holger didn't help. Then I tried an update via
Help -> Check for Updates
and the updater loaded some files. After restart no error message, it seems all runs fine!
Best regards,
Wolfgang

Hi,
another success:
now I assembled a new pc (Win7 64bit and 16 GByte Ram) and downloaded and installed today Dave 4.2.4 64bit. After setting all paths, start of Dave and switching between CE projects works fine, problem doesn't appear any more.
