In DAVE, there is a error log file that captures all the warnings and errors logged by plug-ins. The underlying log file is a .log file stored in the .metadata subdirectory of the workspace. When requesting support for DAVE IDE, it is helpful to include this file (.log) to help speed up the analyse.
Follow these steps to get a copy of the log file.
1. Go to the directory of your project workspace. In the directory, find a folder ".metadata".
2. Go into the folder and look for a text file (".log") and delete this file. This logs all the DAVE IDE activities.
3. Open DAVE IDE and perform the same steps to recreate the error you faced.
4. Once this is done, exit DAVE.
5. Retrieve the .log file from the .metafolder folder. You may review this .log file or send this file with your query.
Alternatively, if you are using DAVE v4, you may access the .log file in the Error Log view. The Error Log view captures all the warnings and errors logged by plug-ins. The underlying log file is a .log file stored in the .metadata subdirectory of the workspace. The Error Log view is available under Open the Log view Window > Show View > Error Log .
