Hi,

I went through the XMC4500 reference manual and couldn't find information how a shadow transfer works when CCU8 timers slices are concatenated. It looks that shadow transfer signal is not a part of Timer Concatenation Link, thus shadow transfer in LSB is not able to fire transfer in MSB? Could someone please clarify this issue.

Best regards,
Mariusz

Hi Mariusz,

The shadow transfer works the same whenever the timer slices are concatenated or not (from period match to 0x0000).

Hi Sophia,

What is the sense of triggering the shadow transfer in LSB without transferring MSB in concatenation mode?

Hi Mariusz,

To be precise, the shadow transfer is done during MSB period match to 0x0000 in timer concatenation mode.
The application updates the shadow registers of the MSB, LSBs and then requests a shadow transfer for both at the same time (via the shadow transfer enable request bits).
The force or automatic update of the registers is not available but it has been planned for the next product.
