Hello,

I would like to use NovalithIC™ BTN7970 High Current PN Half Bridge, at the switching frequency ~1 kHz. The trouble is that I need to modulate pin No. 3 (Inhibit) as well to disable reverse current through the lower switches (therefore it would be switched at ~2 kHz). Is this possible, can BTN7970 respond properly to such relatively fast switching of this pin, since it goes to "sleep mode"?

Thank you!

hey sorry for the late reply

from the datasheet the btn79xx series its capable of working at 25khz also infineon has an application kit for a bldc motor in which if i remember correctly in software they switch the pwm from the INH pin to IN pin probably for the same reason as you want to do that im not sure though about the pwm frequency

why don't you do some tests ?

I've done exactly this (PWM the INH pin) on the BTN7960 and several other NovalithicIC half bridges at >20kHz. I don't think there will be any problems doing the same thing with the BTN7970.
