So this question likely id's me as newbie...but is there an appnote on the use of the spice thermal model subcircuit that appears to be appended to the end of the irf135b203 spice model.

Hi,
Please refer the following appnote to know more about different models available,

In the spice thermal model sub circuit, values from Rth1 to Cth6 are thermal network parameters.
Please refer the following link for accurate connection of thermal impedance network,
