Can multiple LITIX Basic+ ICs with multiple output channels be used in parallel for Tail/Stop?
E.g. parallelizing several TLD2131-3EP output channels when the ICs are used in an OR combination for a Tail/Stop application - behavior of the application is:
a) when Tail signal is active LED Group 1 is ON with 100% nominal current set by IC2. LED Group 2 is ON with 100% nominal current set by IC1
b) when Stop signal is active LED Group 1 is ON with 100% nominal current set by IC3. LED Group 2 is ON with 100% nominal current set by IC4
c) when both Tail and Stop signals are available, both LED groups will be ON with 50% of nominal current each (set by all ICs)
Indeed it is possible to configure multiple LITIX™ Basic+ ICs and its output channels in parallel.
When either Tail or Stop operation is active, only the respective IC which is supplied (supply at VS-pin) will drive the LED group with 100% of nominal current set by RSET.
A diode is not needed on the outputs of the ICs as only the ICs which is supplied will provide current to the LED group.
When the combined Tail-Stop operation (both supply signals) is active, both ICs drive the LED group with the a different level of current.
This different level of current which is required can be set either with use of PWM signal of via the IN_SET pin (change of RSET value).
