I am studying SiC diodes for a PFC circuit in Commercial AC 7HP. I want to compare SiC Diode with Si Diode.
Can you check the following diode's trr value ?
IDWD30G120C5
IDW30G65C5
IDW40G65C5

Thanks!

Hi Fränce,

at first please doublecheck the voltage class you need. In the list of devices you have one 1200 V diode and two 650 V devices.

On your question in regard to trr: Contrary to Si-diodes SiC-Schottky diodes have no significant reverse recovery effect at all. Therefore a trr-value is not needed for loss calculation. The only mechanism contributing to switching loss is the capacitive charge Qc. Information on Qc is provided in the datasheet.
There are several application notes available for PFC-solutions in different topologies.

Best regards,
