Hi Fränce,
T7 technology is specifically designed for industrial motor drive applications and solar energy systems with a switching frequency range between 5kHz and 30kHz.
You can find further information on this page: https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/power/igbt/trenchstop-igbt7/.
Regards,
Giuseppe

Good morning,
which devices is IGBT T7 targeting to replace? And what are the improvements compared to the predecessors?
Thanks,
Walter

Hello Walter,
sorry for the late reply.
The T7 IGBT and diode technology has been released as a flexible series to replace existing Infineon’s short-circuit rated product families, such as TRENCHSTOP™, TRENCHSTOP™ Performance, and HighSpeed 3.
It can also be used as an alternative to the non-short-circuit rated TRENCHSTOP™5 technologies.
IGBT7 T7, in a comparison with predecessor generations, increase the system power capability by up to 25%, while maintaining a similar temperature of the devices. At same system power, IGBT7 T7 can be driven with up to 15% lower junction temperature compared to the aforementioned existing technologies.
In addition, the IGBT7 T7 blocking voltage has been increased by 50V in comparison with previous generations and now it is rated at 700V.
For more information, you can refer to the following material:

Is there any plan for a portfolio extension e.g. AirCon PFC application?
