Hi Dan,
There was a problem to download the example projects, this is now fixed. Just type in ADC in the key word filter of the Library page (the page where all the examples are listed in different categories) then the ADC example can be found more easily.
Please note that the example projects that uses the GUISL001 App cannot be regenerated with the latest DAVE Apps update, we will fix this soon.

Hi,

will there be an update for the ADC001 App, so it supports the XMC1100?
Or should it support the XMC1100 already and I'm doing sth wrong?
If not maybe you have an answer to my latest post about ADC on the XMC1100 (http://www.infineonforums.com/threads/559-XMC1100-configure-analog-digital-converter)?

best regards

The current ADC Apps cannot be used with the XMC1100 series because the ADC is different and doesn’t provide the comprehensive functionality as in the other XMC devices. A dedicated ADC App for XMC1100 series is in development (ADC004) and is planned to be released by end of June/July time frame.

After applying latest updates to DAVE and APP library, code generation no longer makes DAVE3.h.
This of course makes the compiler upset ..

We did a comprehensive updated of the project example library. In total there are around 180 examples projects available for download.

The following example projects are updated, to new versions of DAVE Apps, and support added for XMC4400, XMC4200, XMC1300, XMC1200 and XMC1100 (where applicable) For most of the XMC4500 update we have chosen XMC4500 AB step. (not all relevant DAVE Apps are supporting the XNC4500 AB step yet but this is planned to be accomplished in coming 2 to 3 months). For the example projects that support other series than XMC4500 we added a series suffix to the project name.
ADC001_Example1,ADC001_Example2, ADC002_Example1, ADC003_Example1, ADCSYNC001_Example1, CRC001_Example1, CRC007_Example1, DACWG001_Example1, DACWG002_DMA002_Example2, DACWG002_Example1, DACWG003_DMA002_Example2, DACWG003_Example1, DACWG005_Example1, DACWG005_Example2, DMA002_Example1, DMA003_Example1, DMA004_Example1, ERU001_ERU002_Example1, ERU001_ERU002_Example2, ETH004_Example1, FLASH001_Example1,GUIKB001_Example1 (replacing GUISL001_GUIKB001_Example1), GUIMS001_Example1 (replacing GUISL001_GUIMS001_Example1), HAll_BLDC_Motor_Example1, PWMSP001_CNT001_Example1, RTC001_Example1,UART001_Example1, UART001_Example2, UART001_Example3, UART001_Example4, USBBL001_USBMS001_Example1 (replacing USBBL001-Example1),USBVC001_VCOMSerial_Example1 (replacing USBVC001_Example1), USBVCH001_Example1, WDT001_Example1, WEBSERVER001_Example1, WEBSERVER001_Example2.

New PWM example projects for the XMC1000 family have been released:: PWMSP002_Example1_XMC13.xml, PWMSP001_Example1_XMC1, PWMSP001_CNT001_Example2_XMC1, CCUST001_Example1_XMC13, CAP001_Example1_XMC1

The following updates of XMC1200 Lighting example projects have been released: RGBLamp_Example01_XMC12, RGBLamp_Example02_XMC12, RGBLamp_Example03_XMC12, StreetLamp_Example01_XMC12

The following updates of motor control example projects have been released: ACIMVF01_Example1, BLDCBCH03_Example1, PMSMSINH03_Example1, PWMSVM01_Example1, BLDCBCH02_Example1_XMC13, Encoder_FOC_Example2 (replacing Encoder_FOC-Motor_Example)

To download the projects press: -> Help ->Install DAVE Apps/Example Library
Then select in “Work with” “DAVE Project Library Manager” and chose the project you want to download in your local repository / to the current workspace.

If the there is an interesting example project that is not available for the target MCU that you are interesting in you may still download this example project and recreate it for the required target MCU based on the instructions in the readme.txt that is included in each example (assuming that the new target MCU provides the required HW resources). The source files like main.c can jthen ust be copied from the downloaded project to the newly created project. Similarly, examples can be recreated for different HW boards, e.g most of the XMC4500 examples that are created and tested for the XMC4500 Hexagon board, can be easily recreated for the XMC4500 Relax Kit or for the HiLight Board from Hitex.

In particular, if you have experienced problems with older version of project please download the new updated version.

Update, July, 5, 2013

This is an exceptional update of DAVE Apps to solve a backward compatibility issue with earlier created projects for XMC4400 series, XMC4200 series XMC4100 series and XMC4500 series AB step

Besides the configurable DAVE Apps, there are also static library Apps that are added by default to a project. The library code is then enabled by the respective DAVE Apps via # defines.
With the latest update we moved the static motor control library code to the LIBS folder. With this change it could happen that older projects for XMC4400 series, XMC4200 series XMC4100 series and XMC4500 series AB step will produce a compilation error after the code is regenerated.
This update will fix this problem, by adding a dummy MOTORLIBS.H and aligning the static header file names.

Update, July, 30, 2013

Today, we published the following update of DAVE Apps library (update site v 1.0.48)
- DAVEApps_Library_001 has been updated to v 1.0.48
- DAVEApps_MotorControl_Library_001 has been updated to v 1.0.16
- No change of DAVEApps_Lighting_Library_001 (v 1.0.6)
- No change of Device Descriptions

A pdf with more details can be downloaded from here:
http://media.infineon.com/DAVE_3/Update/DAVE%20Update%202013-07-30.pdf

Important Note:
In case earlier versions of DAVE Apps and Device description libraries are already installed, then an update with this new DAVE Apps update site version could lead to problems (e.g. DAVE Apps are not visible any more). Therefore we recommend to do a new installation of DAVE App / Device Description as described in following steps:
- Exit DAVE
- Rename the existing library store: The existing library store can be found in the user folder: c:\users\\Infineon\D3LibraryStore. Rename “D3LibraryStore” to “D3LibraryStore_old”
In case the old versions of DAVE Apps are not needed any more, the old library store can also removed.
- Start DAVE
- Install the latest version of DAVE Apps and Device Description:
->Help ->Install DAVE Apps / Example Libraries, Then select in “Work with” DAVE Apps Library Manager
Then select Library_DAVEApps and Library_DAVEDeviceDescription and follow the further steps.

If a different name and location for the local library store has been defined in the preferences, then this library store should be renamed similarly as described.

Preannouncement:
We plan to release a new DAVE installer version 3.1.8 by August 16. Among other improvements, this version will include the migration functionality to migrate an existing project to another device (within same series) or to migrate to new DAVE Apps versions

Update, August, 19, 2013
Today we published a quick fix to solve two urgent problems in DBG001 App and in RTOS001 App:
DBG002: Correction of connection problems when using XMC1000 family and xSPY
RTOS001: Correction of a XMC4500 related assembly file to make the CMSIS RTX code compliant to GCC 4.7 (DAVE still uses GCC 4.6 which doesn’t cause a problem)
We created a new DAVE Apps library that contains an updated version of these two DAVE Apps.
The DAVE Apps library, installation instructions and release information can be downloaded from here:

Update, September, 13, 2012

A new version of DAVE™, DAVE™ v3.1.8 is now available for download.
A new version of DAVE™ Apps libraries, update site version 1.0.50 is now available for download.

Please note, this new DAVE Apps libraries update site version can only be used with DAVE™ v3.1.8. Vice versa, DAVE™ v3.1.8 can only be used with DAVE™ Apps libraries update site v1.0.50 or higher.

DAVE™ 3.1.8 contains a quite a few new features and other improvements:
• Migration support to migrate in an existing project to newer versions of DAVE™ Apps or to change the target device
• Preserve chip resources to easy combine existing SW or third party SW that uses HW registers along with the DAVE™ generated library sources
• Improvement in various Apps related views
• Option to change the BMI setting of XMC1000 microcontrollers
• …..

The DAVE™ Apps libraries updated site v 1.0.50 contains 7 new DAVE Apps and update of more than 20 DAVE™ Apps and an update of all Device Descriptions related to a new version of eclipse CLP solver (reason why it is only working with DAVE™ 3.1.8).

Please check out further details and how to use the new features efficiently.

In addition to download examples projects directly from DAVE™, the same example projects can now also be downloaded directly from a web page independently of DAVE™.
With the new migration functionality it is very easy to migrate the older DAVE™ App versions used in the various example projects to the newest App version in the local Library Store.

Hi
I just tried to use the "Check for Updates" help option in DAVE 3.1.6 but it did not find the update, i.e. to DAVE 3.1.8. Is this a bug?

Sharman,

This is not a bug. DAVE 3.1.6 is pointed at the 3.1.6 update site, not the 3.1.8 update site.
After reading the installation instructions for DAVE 3.1.8 I would not recommend updating to DAVE 3.1.8 from inside DAVE 3.1.6 as there is no mention of this being an correct means of installation.
I have been using DAVE 3 since the first version, and have found the best approach to a new version of DAVE3 is installing the new version separately from the previous, and then migrating your projects to the new version.

Regards,
Doug

DAVE v3.1.6 cannot be updated to DAVE v3.1.8 using the eclipse plug-in update feature.
DAVE v3.1.8 must be installed from scratch and it will be installed as new instance, separate to the DAVE v3.1.6 installation.
After installation of DAVE 3.1.8 we recommend to create new workspace and import the projects created with DAVE v3.1.6 with the DAVE import functionality:
->File ->Import ->Infineon ->DAVE Project; Then browse to the workspace from where the project should be imported.

If a workspace created in DAVE 3.1.6 should be used in DAVE 3.1.8 then this workspace has to be modified as follows after opened in DAVE v3.1.8:
* All eclipse environment variables in project properties have to be adjusted to the installation folders of DAVE 3.1.8
* In Dave preferences “Library Manager” the Library Store preference has to point to the new local library store with DAVE Apps libraries update site v1.0.50 ( …\D3LibrayStore_3.1.8).
But then the workspace cannot be used with DAVE 3.1.6 any more without revert these changes.

DAVE 3.1.8 can also be downloaded as zip file which allows more flexibility, including over installation of older DAVE versions.

Important note:
DAVE™ v3.1.8. can only be used with DAVE Apps libraries update site v1.0.50 or higher (an earlier library has to be updated: -> Help –>Check for DAVE App Updates).
DAVE 3.1.6 can only be used with DAVE Apps libraries update site v1.0.48 or lower.

Dear users,

We found an issue with the latest version NVIC002 App that can lead to a compilation error as

error: invalid type argument of '->' (have 'NVIC002_HandleType')

if one of the following APIs are used

  • NVIC002_EnableIRQ(Handle)
  • NVIC002_DisableIRQ(Handle)
  • NVIC002_GetPendingIRQ(Handle)
  • NVIC002_SetPendingIRQ(Handle)
  • NVIC002_ClearPendingIRQ(Handle)

A simple workaround is to surround with parentheses the parameter to the function, i.e.
instead of
NVIC002_EnableIRQ(&NVIC002_Handle0);
use
NVIC002_EnableIRQ((&NVIC002_Handle0));

A fix will be released in the next couple of days. DAVE 3.1.10 also will be delayed accordingly.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
