Hi,

I want connect the four XMC4800 devices at using JTAG chain.
What points do you think I should be careful about?

For example
- Whether a buffer is needed
If need the buffer. Could you tell me, add buffer to where and a specifications of buffer?
- Do I need to change the pull-up and pull-down resistance constants according to the number of devices?

Thank you.

Hi,

The following pins has internal pull resistor:
- TRST: Internal pull-down
- TMS/SWDIO: Internal pull-up
- TCK/SWCLK: Internal pull-down

External pull resistor in the range 4.7K to 10K are optional.
Debug probes like ULINK2 provides the required buffering.

Hi,

Can your J-LINK probes (Infineon KIT_XMC_LINK_SEGGER_V1 ) support multiple ARM chain connection by JTAG?

Best Regards,

Hello,

Yes, our kit KIT_XMC_LINK_SEGGER_V1 will support multiple devices on JTAG chain. As you can see from the user manual, KIT_XMC_LINK_SEGGER_V1 debug probe is based on SEGGER J-Link debug firmware. So, we suggest you to refer SEGGER documentation for more details.

Thanks and Regards,
Sudheesh
