Dear all,
Does the IGBT have unclamped inductive switching capability?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Gyro,
unclamped inductive switching operation are not guaranteed anymore in the IGBT datasheets. Depending on the technology, some IGBT may be still capable of handling operation in breakdown conditions.
For specific applications, where the avalanche operations are possible, an IGBT can be designed with robustness to UIS. However, a compromise with the performances in the normal operating conditions must be taken into consideration.
Best Regards,
Giuseppe
