Hello!

Can a crystal be connected to an XMC1100Q024? And if yes, where? Is there a hardware manual available for those devices?

Many thanks!

Hi,

The XMC1100, XMC1200 and XMC1300 do not have provision for connecting an external crystal. Only the XMC1400 does.
You will find all the documentation (reference manual, data sheets, errata sheets, applications notes, etc...) at https://www.infineon.com/cms/de/product/microcontroller/32-bit-industrial-microcontroller-based-on-a...

Refering to the XMC1100 AB-Step DataSheet version 01-08, pages 50 and 51, the DCO1-frequency is to +/-1% after calibration. Can you say someting about the long-term drift of the frequency?
Also I don't see any information on the frequency behaviour versus operating Voltage.
I need to determine if I can use a XMC1100 without extra provisions (other than frequency-calibration) in order to communicate over RS232 savely over temperature and time. It should stay within +/-2% long-term. Would
you recommend a XMC1400-series with a crystal over a XMC1100 relying on the internal oscillator?
