Hello.
We plan to use a chip from the TLE987x family in development.
Is it possible to protect flash firmware from further reading (readout protect)?
In the documentation, I read that the chip is always available for any operations via SWD.

Hi Dmity.
Yes you could use a function buit in the BSL which you can access with our uiostick:
https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/evaluation-boards/uio-stick/
If you have a look at this manual you could find this protection function accessible from GUI and windows Cmd line:
https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-uIO-STICK-Users-Manual-02-Infineon-UM-v01_10-EN.pdf?fileId=55...
more in general, the BSL commands are explained in the bootrom UM, which for TLE987x you can find at this link

Is there in addition a possibility to activate the read protection in SW only? Can we for example check during SW startup if a read protection is enabled and if not enable it internally via SW (set necessary registers) without the need to intact with the BSL via FastLIN or UART?
