If you are not trying to measure the performance, but you know your motor drive conditions and the thermal environment of the IPM, then you can use the IPM Simulation Tool. This tool estimates the power losses and temperatures of the IGBTs/MOSFETs within the IPM. You will be able to view the efficiency of the IPM, total power losses, and also the thermal performance. This of course is a simulated estimate, but should not be too far off from actual measurements. To know how to use the tool, please watch the video tutorial on the tool's webpage. There is also a user manual that goes into more detail.
