When running DAVE installer package (eg. DAVE-3_1_8_Installer-2013-09-12) to install "SEGGER-JLinkARM_V474", you need to keep the default option "Install USB Driver for J-Link-OB with CDC" being checked.
Otherwise you may not able to use the J-Link OB on the various kits of the XMC microcontrollers.
This has been highlighted in section 2.4 of "Procedure to install DAVE" in "DAVE3-1-8_Installation_Instructions_InstallerPackage".
