Hi Rodger,
There are several combinations of boards, so the kit uses the EEPROM to identify what is present at that time. The message you are getting is because these EEPROMS are either blank or corrupt. Included in the kit should be instructions on how to re-program the EEPROMS (one on logic board, and one on gate driver board). Once a valid configuration is loaded in the EEPROMs, then you will clear this init problem.
