I think the point of protecting the flash is that it's non-reversible. I might be wrong, but it doesn't really make sense otherwise.
Imagine you ship a critical system and you don't want anyone to be able to temper with it or reverse engineer it.

Some XC800 MCUs have feature to unprotect a protected Flash, by means of erasing the complete Flash prior unprotect. Perhaps this feature is also existing on TLE9832?
